There are nearby meadows and fenced fields with curious horses that seem to enjoy a friendly pet from passing strangers. There are a couple of little ponies in a paddock and another part of the hotel property is also an idyllic park. The pastoral views around the hotel property are lovely, and there are many paths for walks into the woods. Metairie also has a beautiful pool that we could still enjoy in mid to late September. There are several charming villages within a very short drive of Le Metairie. Yet still, conveniently within range of the Dordogne and the Vezere Valley. The hotel is located in a rural setting, somewhat isolated in a quiet countryside of rolling hills, meadows and woodland. There were the little touches too, that included fresh fruit and cold bottled water in our room. Our second-floor room was spacious with individual air conditioning, an excellent ensuite bathroom, shower with a large heated towel rack.
LA METAIRIE HOTEL DORDOGNE PROFESSIONAL
We were all graciously received by a very professional concierge who saw to all our wishes, as did all the friendly and efficient hotel staff. My brother and his wife, along with their fox terrier, were in a garden-side room. Our room, the “Colchique” (Autumn Crocus) was well-appointed, clean and very comfortable. We stayed 7 nights at Le Metairie from Sept 17 through Sept 25, 2017.
